Etihad kicks off summer with new Egypt route, return of Europe flights
Mediterranean gems offer ideal escapes for UAE holidaymakers
DUBAI: Etihad Airways is heating up the 2025 summer season with six sought-after destinations, including a brand-new route to Al Alamein in Egypt and the return of five European summer favourites.
Passengers on the first flights were treated to limited-edition Summer Fun Kits, setting the tone for sun-filled adventures.
New destination: Al Alamein
Starting 17 July, Etihad will operate two weekly flights to Al Alamein (DBB), a coastal gem nestled on Egypt’s northern Mediterranean shoreline. Known for its blend of natural beauty and historic landmarks, Al Alamein offers UAE travellers an exciting alternative for both relaxation and exploration, just a short flight away.
European getaways
Alongside this new launch, Etihad has resumed seasonal operations to five European cities, perfect for holidaymakers chasing culture, sun, and sea. These include:
- Nice (NCE), France: A scenic gateway to the glamorous French Riviera, offering access to Monaco and Cannes.
- Malaga (AGP), Spain: A launchpad for exploring Andalucía’s sun-soaked coastlines and historic cities like Granada and Seville.
- Santorini (JTR) and Mykonos (JMK), Greece: Famed for their striking architecture, turquoise waters, and golden sunsets.
- Antalya (AYT), Turkey: Back from 17 June, this resort city on the Turkish Riviera delivers seaside bliss and ancient charm.
Onboard experience
To celebrate the launch, Etihad surprised travellers with its exclusive Summer Fun Kits. Each includes a branded cooler bag, Voss water bottle, inflatable beach ball, microfibre beach towel, and a gift booklet – allowing passengers to step off the plane ready for the beach.
In-flight entertainment has also been upgraded. The airline’s E-Box now features destination-themed content tied to its summer network, giving guests the chance to explore their holiday spot before even landing.
Bookings open
All six seasonal routes are now available via Etihad’s website and approved travel agents. With direct access to some of the most picturesque locations across Europe and the Mediterranean, UAE travellers can plan a seamless, short-haul escape this summer – with style and ease.
